Project 2-Website Redesign Prototype

LECTURES

The objective of this assignment is to translate your website redesign proposal into a functional prototype. This prototype should visually and interactively represent the proposed changes, demonstrating your ability to apply design principles and UX strategies effectively.

Building upon your previous assignment (Website Redesign Proposal), you are now required to develop a prototype of the redesigned website. This prototype should reflect the proposed visual design and user experience improvements, providing a tangible representation of the final product.

Prototype Development:
Interactive Prototype:

Develop a clickable prototype that includes key pages and features of the redesigned website. The prototype should allow users to navigate through the site and interact with essential elements.

Tools: Use prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or any other relevant software to create the prototype.

Key Pages to Include:

Homepage: Present the main design elements, including navigation, hero section, and key content areas.

Core Content Pages: Develop prototypes for at least ONE core page (e.g., About Us, Services, Products) to showcase how the content is organized and presented.

Contact Page: Include a prototype of the contact page, demonstrating how users can interact with forms or other contact methods.

User Experience (UX)
Considerations:

Usability:
Ensure the prototype reflects a user-friendly design, with clear navigation, intuitive interfaces, and accessible features.

Interactivity: Implement interactive elements (e.g., buttons, hover states, form fields) to provide a realistic user experience.

INSTRUCTION

This assignment focuses on translating my website redesign proposal for https://www.itsnicethat.com insights into a functional and interactive prototype. The original website presents strong visual content but lacks clarity in structure, navigation, and user flow. Based on the redesign proposal, this prototype demonstrates how improved layout, clearer hierarchy, and refined interactions can enhance usability and overall user experience. The prototype was developed using Figma, allowing realistic navigation and interaction between key pages.

The homepage redesign for Its Like That focuses on establishing a strong first impression while improving clarity and usability. A simplified navigation bar helps users quickly understand the site structure. The hero section highlights the brand’s identity and core message, while content sections are clearly separated using spacing and alignment. Visual hierarchy is strengthened through typography and layout, guiding users smoothly through the page.

The core content page demonstrates how information related to Its Like That is reorganized for better readability and engagement. Content is structured using clear headings and consistent spacing, reducing visual clutter found in the original site. This page reflects the redesign goal of making information easier to scan and understand, while call-to-action elements encourage further user interaction.

The contact page redesign prioritizes simplicity and accessibility. A clean form layout allows users to easily understand how to contact Its Like That. Input fields and buttons are designed with familiar interaction patterns, improving user confidence and reducing friction during the communication process.

Usability and consistency were central to the redesign of the Its Like That website. Key UX considerations included clearer navigation, improved visual hierarchy, and simplified user flows. Design decisions were informed by user-centered principles, aiming to reduce cognitive load while maintaining the brand’s visual character. The interactive prototype demonstrates how these UX improvements address the weaknesses identified in the original website.

Overall, this prototype successfully translates the Its Like That website redesign proposal into a functional and interactive experience. It demonstrates how thoughtful visual design and UX strategies can improve usability, clarity, and engagement while preserving the brand’s identity.
